Market Context — MVNO vs. Major Carrier
MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) lease tower capacity from the major carriers at wholesale
prices and pass the savings to consumers. Visible is 100% owned by Verizon — it
uses the same 4G LTE and 5G Nationwide network. The main trade-off: Visible is a prepaid MVNO, so
in congested areas your data may be deprioritized behind postpaid Verizon customers during peak hours.
For typical household usage this is unnoticeable.
⚠️ Device installments: If any lines have active device payment plans with Verizon,
those installments are separate from your service plan and must be paid off or transferred before
porting. Check your Verizon account for any remaining device balances before switching.

What To Do Next
-
1
Port all 4 lines to Visible+ — keep your numbers
Go to visible.com and sign up with "party pay" (now called Visible+). To transfer your number, choose "Switch to Visible" and enter your Verizon account number and PIN (find these in the Verizon app under Account → Account Info). Number transfers complete within 2–4 hours.
-
2
Keep your existing phones (BYOD)
Your current devices work on Visible since it runs on Verizon's network. Check compatibility at visible.com/byod — enter your phone's IMEI (found in Settings → About). Most Verizon-purchased iPhones and Android devices are already unlocked and compatible.
-
3
Cancel Verizon after confirming all lines have transferred
Do NOT cancel Verizon before your number transfer completes — canceling first terminates the port. Wait until all 4 Visible SIMs are active and each number is confirmed ported. Then cancel Verizon to stop future charges. Expect a prorated final bill from Verizon.
-
4
Handle any remaining device installment balances separately
If any lines had Verizon device payment plans, those balances aren't forgiven by switching. Pay them off via the Verizon app, or finance them through a personal card to complete the separation. Verizon will issue a final statement — review it for accuracy.
